Evan Turner

As we are currently on the eve of one more big time Big Ten match-up at home against #19 Minnesota, who have already beaten the Buckeyes by 9 in early January, I find myself trying to figure out if the Gophers will have any defense for Ohio State’s not to secret weapon, G/F Evan Turner. At this point I’m barely hiding my dude crush on the man, and for good reason, look at his stats from the last 4 games…
Michigan State – 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Michigan – 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks
Indiana – 29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block
Purdue – 26 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
That’s an average of 24.5 points, 8.25 rebounds, 4.25 assists, 1.75 steals, 1.25 blocks.
Now you know why Turner is starting to turn up on all of the NBA draft boards.
Tomorrow night we’ll find out if Tubby Smith can game plan the Buckeyes best weapon away, and keep him from running rampant all over the Gophers. If he can’t, the Buckeyes will have a great chance of upending them, and continuing their recent winning streak.
