Three Things About The Schedule
- Replacing what was a game against Div. 1AA Youngstown State with a game against Navy makes the schedule that much more difficult. I always fear the service academies in a game of football. You never know when some four star general is going rally the troops, or the midshipmen into a Buckeye beating fervor.
- USC comes to Columbus to give the Buckeyes their best shot at beating a great team. The Trojans are going to lose most of their defense, and their quarterback to the NFL draft, but Pete Carroll reloads his team every year. Look for this game to be Terrell Pryor’s salvo on a Heisman campaign.
- At Michigan, at Penn State, at Purdue. Those three Big Ten games, against what could be the Buckeyes most difficult opponents, take place on foreign soil. If the Buckeyes aren’t ready they could get buried beneath a Big Ten winner. I know nobody thinks Michigan will be any good, but Rich Rodriguez is the kind of maniac that wins or kills many many people.
